Stretching for Sports Massage
This course will teach the massage practitioner how to assess for muscle imbalances and effectively integrate stretching techniques with training and rehabilitation protocols of the sports and fitness world.
Objectives
- Demonstrate and explain overhead squat assessment.
- Explain and demonstrate variations of neuromuscular stretching.
- Demonstrate direct tissue stretching.
- Explain and demonstrate active release and pin and stretch.
- Combine stretching methods for increased effect.

About the Instructor:
Jarian Derrough is licensed as a massage therapist and instructor in Texas. He is also certified by the National Academy of Sports Medicine as a corrective exercise specialist.
Jarian graduated from Parker University’s School of Massage in 2011 and opened a private practice the following year. Jarian worked with Sandy Fritz as a continuing education provider for the Health Enrichment Center, providing sports massage education. Jarian also trained massage therapists to work with professional football players as the massage therapy coordinator for the San Antonio Commanders of the Alliance of American Football.
Jarian currently resides in Arlington, Texas where he owns a wellness clinic and teaches massage therapy to future massage professionals.
