Course Description:
With the ever-rising need for consistency in massage therapy treatment plans, the ability of a practitioner's skills in communicating the urgency of manual therapy treatment session compliance is critical in patient outcomes. This is especially true when treating injured patients in the midst of a legal case. This course covers the basics of interviewing, follow-through, charting, and working with insurance claims while being overseen by a legal team.

About the Instructor:
Eston Dunn
Eston Dunn began his career in the allied health field in 1987 after becoming certified with AFAA (Aerobics Fitness Association of America) and eventually becoming a Certification Specialist in Personal Training with ACSM (American College of Sports Medicine). Eston continued his education and successfully earned a BFA in Fine Arts and a BSE in Exercise Science and Wellness from FAU as well as a MS in Health Science from Stafford University. After 9 years as a Clinical Exercise Physiologist for Broward General Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale, Eston worked as a Health Educator with the Broward Country Department of Health [specializing in HIV/AIDS Education] before joining the faculty of FCNH as Massage Therapy faculty/Education Coordinator in 2001 till 2010. In 2009, Eston joined the adjunct teaching faculty at ATOM [Atlantic Institute of Oriental Medicine] in downtown Fort Lauderdale followed by being a Program Director for Ultimate Medical Academy in Spa Management (2011) and then eventually a Program Director for Everest University for Massage Therapy (2013). He served as the Spa Manager for The Royal Palms Resort & Spa (2014), located on Fort Lauderdale Beach before becoming the Southeastern Regional Recruiter/Trainer for Massage Envy; overseeing 44 clinics and working with 27 massage therapy schools from the Treasure Coast to Miami-Dade Counties, followed by overseeing Massage Therapy for American Institute till 2018. Currently, he serves as the Lead Instructor for Cortiva Institute in Pompano Beach.
Eston was a nominee for the ArtService Encore Award – 2004, Artists of the Year Award, is also the recipient ACCSCT Instructor of the Year – 2004, National Award and the FAPSC Faculty Member of the Year – 2006-2007, State Award.
Somehow, through his busy schedule as a dedicated teacher, fitness expert, and HIV/AIDS advocate Eston has managed to become a celebrated author under the pseudo-name E. Robert Dunn, penning the science fiction series “Echelon’s End” and several plays, two of which have been part of the off-Broadway Spotlight Theater Festival in NYC (2002).
Eston is also the founder the non-profit ArtsUnited, Inc (founded in 1997). In 2011, Eston has pioneered another non-profit, this time a public webcasting company: www.watchoutweb.org.. In addition, Eston worked as a consultant for eDiets/eFitness.coms and has had health and fitness articles published via their online newsletter on a regular basis as well as South Florida’s local newspaper and magazine “The Weekly News” (TWN) and HotSpots.
