Barry Cooper is a Licensed Massage Therapist, Ayurveda Health Educator, and the owner/operator of Ayurvedic Massage and Yoga of Central Florida @ Living Room Yoga in Saint Petersburg, Florida. His love and focus is on Ayurveda and Traditional Thai- Yoga bodywork.

Barry began practicing Hatha yoga in 2001, which ignited his love of massage and the bodywork arts. In 2003, he enrolled in massage school and took his first Traditional Thai-Yoga bodywork course.  His journey through yoga, massage, and Ayurveda changed his life. This lifestyle relieved his agitated mind and his lifelong battle with asthma and allergies.

Barry graduated from Florida College of Natural Health-Orlando Campus’s European Swedish Massage program. Barry studied Vedic Thai – Yoga bodywork with Michael “Mukti” Buck for over 10 years and was a Vedic Conservatory Instructor. He has trained with Ariela Grodner of Ariela’s Thai Massage.

On his quest to becoming an advanced Ayurvedic practitioner, he is currently attending California College of Ayurveda’s Distance Learning Program. He is also working on completing his 500 hour yoga teacher training with the Himalayan Institute in Honesdale, PA. Studied with The Ayurvedic Academy’s Distance Learning Program Level 1 program based in Seattle, Washington in 2005.

Barry also received hands on training in massage treatments with Julia and Dinesh Mader of Rasayana Cove Retreat in Ona, Florida. In addition to practicing in the Saint Petersburg, FL and Orlando area, Barry has also traveled to London, England for clients. His wealth of experience includes working in and opening two spas in prominent Orlando resort hotels, worked at Canyon Ranch SpaClub at Gaylord Palms Resort and Spa for 4 years, and has taught at several massage schools in the Central Florida area. Barry instills in his clients that “massage is not a luxury – it is a necessity”.
